While attending the Winona Arts Camp I learned that I wasn’t shy after all!
My daughter had a great time at the Summer Dance Intensive (SDI). She enjoyed the teachers, learning new styles of dance, as well as being challenged in styles of dance that she was already familiar with. The teachers were encouraging and supportive. I would highly recommend SDI.
In the past few years, I have watched my daughter grow into a more confident little girl. She isn’t as shy as she used to be and enjoys being involved. She absolutely loves tap dance! She fell in love with it last year at this time when she tried the National Tap dance workshop. She has also enjoyed the arts camp and when it was over last summer, she asked when she could go again. She is able to experience a bit of independence while at camp.
On March 11th, 2019, registration for our Spring/ Summer session opens and we hope you are excited as we are about our new offerings and the popular camps and classes that are returning. Below is a little peek at some of our new and or improved programs to look forward to, also don’t forget that you can save big bucks on our summer camps if you register by May 1. All of the dates and descriptions are up on our website, our paper and digital catalog will be out soon.
A day at Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts summer dance intensive
For three weeks each July, around 30-38 dancers venture to the small but safe and beautiful river town of Winona, MN. These intermediate and advanced dancers who range in age from 11-22 years experience full days of dancing, attend professional music and theatre performances, and make friendships that last a lifetime. The Intensive is rooted in strong ballet technique, but offers a well-rounded dance education and opportunity to study with top notch artists.
Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) will hold four open auditions in Wisconsin and Minnesota for our 17th annual Summer Dance Intensive boarding summer camp (one of the only boarding summer dance intensives in Minnesota!). Thanks to positive feedback the SDI will once again be 3-weeks! The Dance Intensive will held July 7-27, 2019 in Winona, Minnesota. MCA, is an affiliate program of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and invites intermediate and advanced dancers between the ages of 11 and 22, who are ready for their dance technique to soar to new heights to audition. Auditions will be held in La Crosse & Green Bay, WI and Winona and Mankato, MN.
