While attending the Winona Arts Camp I learned that I wasn’t shy after all!
My daughter had a great time at the Summer Dance Intensive (SDI). She enjoyed the teachers, learning new styles of dance, as well as being challenged in styles of dance that she was already familiar with. The teachers were encouraging and supportive. I would highly recommend SDI.
In the past few years, I have watched my daughter grow into a more confident little girl. She isn’t as shy as she used to be and enjoys being involved. She absolutely loves tap dance! She fell in love with it last year at this time when she tried the National Tap dance workshop. She has also enjoyed the arts camp and when it was over last summer, she asked when she could go again. She is able to experience a bit of independence while at camp.
Thanks to support from the Slaggie Family Foundation MCA will be a second opportunity this year for youth in grades 3rd-8th to participate in a week long Short & Sweet Choir experience Monday- Friday, April 29-May 3.
Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre will be back for the fourth consecutive year at Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts. Area students ages 7-18 are invited to join the cast of “Beauty and the Beast.” This original musical production is the tale about an unjust prince, a gypsy curse, and a young girl who sees beyond appearances. Any student registered will be cast in this week-long production. No prior theatre experience is required. All cast members are required to participate in the audition process on April 22 to determine their role. Cast members MUST be available for rehearsals Monday- Friday, 4-8:15 p.m. and performances on Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. Performances are in MCA’s Academy Theatre at the Valéncia Arts Center.
