With busy work and school schedules we know it can be hard to find time to do things as a family so in addition to producing a variety of music, theatre and dance performances for you and your family to enjoy we have multi-age classes that will help families make memories, get creative and learn together. Below are descriptions of our Family Classes, but you may also want to check out our Events listing to find out about #MCAontheGo events & performances out in the community.
My Grown up & Me
Does your child love to move? Children ages 18 months to 3 years are invited to explore a new environment and connect with a special grown-up in their life. This class will stimulate coordination, balance, and listening skills and will be filled with smiles to last a lifetime! Grown-ups attending will be asked to participate along with their child.
Day/Dates: Thursdays, Jan. 9 –March 12
Time: 5:15–5:45 p.m.
Ages: 18 mo.–3 years (by Jan. 1)

The Valéncia Chorale is a mixed community choir comprised of singers from the Winona area. Under the direction of Dr. Patrick O’Shea, the Valéncia Chorale explores music of a wide range of periods and genres. The very first concert will be in the beautiful Chapel of St. Mary of the Angels (1155 W. Wabasha, Winona, MN) on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 7 pm.
The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) jazz combos are busy rehearsing for two upcoming community concerts that are free and open to the public.
MCA is home to three jazz combos: the Duke, Dizzy, and Basie Combos. These combos are comprised of students ages 11-17 from the Winona area. The public is invited to hear these talented young musicians on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. in the Academy Theatre in MN Conservatory for the Arts’ home, the Valencia Arts Center and on Sunday, November, 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Wellington’s Pub & Grill, 1429 W. Service Dr.
On Thursday Oct. 3, 4:30-6pm the community is invited to a celebration and opening of the Sadie Doering exhibit in Galleria Valencia inside MN Conservatory for the Arts’ home, The Valencia Arts Center. During the celebration, the community will have the opportunity to meet the artist, walk through the exhibit and enjoy treats. Visitors will love exhibit which explores the beauty of dance with charcoal, photography, and paint.
