Under the guidance of Instructor and Choreographer Christine Martin, Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) intermediate and advanced tap dancers; Deja Foster, Viva Graff, Hannah Graff, Elizabeth Hinz, Nadia Hocum, Annabeth Kerr, Mattie Kriesel, Izzy Livingston, Preston Meinke, Isaac Meinke, Justine Meinke, Carmelle Meyer and Keeli Meyer auditioned and were selected to perform in the Twin Cities Tap Festival Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 7:30 pm at the Cowles Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Homeschool Workshops in Celebration of Arts Education Week

Area homeschoolers in Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to join MN PTA (Parent Teacher Association) Reflections Arts chair, Lori Ortega in an art class that will utilize the 2019-20 Reflections theme, “Look Within.” Express yourself through art! This hands-on, creative class, where each student will create their own art work. This exciting 2-day workshop on Sept. 10 & 12, 2020 is provided free as a celebration of National Arts in Education week and kick-off of the National PTA Reflections Program.

Winona’s New Community Piano Lab

Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) is so proud to be the home of a new piano lab that was created to serve students of all ages in a group setting. Though MCA has provided private piano lessons for many years this new state-of-the-art electronic lab allows piano instruction in a unique way that allows students to work together and independently while being instructed by a professional teaching artist.

New Community Choir Forming

New Community Choir Forming

Singers in Winona and the surrounding areas are invited to join the Valéncia Chorale, a new adult community choir for mixed voices under the direction of Dr. Patrick O’Shea. The Valéncia Chorale will rehearse at the Valéncia Arts Center, which houses the Minnesota Conservatory of the Arts, and will explore repertoire of a variety of styles and periods. No audition is necessary to register, but the director will want to hear all singers individually at some point to ensure proper sectional placement. High school-age singers (14-18) may register with the consent of the director. Rehearsals will be on Thursday evenings from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Valencia Arts Center Recital Hall.
