The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) has a long history of supporting area homeschoolers and that is why we find ourselves in a space where families are turning to us to seek answers about how they can adjust to new educational challenges presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For any family that is homeschooling, virtual schooling and or participating in hybrid schooling this Fall, MCA is moderating a live Zoom chat with a panel of seasoned homeschool parents to share their experience and answer your questions. You can join live on Saturday, August. 22, 11am-Noon CST. There is no cost to attend and anyone is welcome to attend, however there will be a portion that will focus on sharing local Winona area resources.
The conversation will be moderated by MCA Managing Director and Homeschooling Mom, Jamie Schwaba and the panel will include seasoned homeschooling parents Anna Kemp, Andrea Gotz, & Tori Lemire.
What will be discussed:
- Choosing curriculum
- Structuring your day
- Including the “extra but essentials” such as visual art, music, physical education, & socialization
- Winona resources
- Q & A time: participants will have an opportunity to submit questions to the panel
To join you will just need to register here to receive the Zoom link. Upon registration you may also submit topics you hope will be discussed or questions you would like answered.
If you are looking for daytime or self-paced arts and fitness opportunities for your child who will be home this year, please view our Homeschool Programs page for more information about MCA programs designed to support learning at-home.
