Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts is thrilled to announce our 47th annual spring Dance Repertory Company (DRC), Change in Color. Change in Color will be presented on April 18th, at 7:30pm and 3pm on April 19th inside the Page Theatre in the Saint Mary’s University Performance Center. This will be an evening of classical and contemporary dance, suitable and engaging for all ages. The concert will start off with, With Flying Colors, a contemporary ballet piece set to Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra set by Tammy Schmidt. The second act will include a high energy hip hop piece with latin inspiration and a contemporary piece about a close-knit group of people that have to deal with changing dynamics and how to move forward while still supporting and embracing each other as unique individuals and will include both choreographed by Jessica Dienger and historical, theatrical, modern dance technique-influenced work based on the story of choreographer Raina Racki’s ancestors who immigrated in 1870 from Denmark to Siberia and later into China. Themes of new possibility and adventure, growing families and professions, love and loss will be portrayed through motion, with props and spoken text.

The cast features 22 advanced local dancers 13 and older including both Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Students.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund as well as generous support by the Hiawatha Education Foundation and Slaggie Family Foundation.

All Performances will be at the Saint Mary University of Minnesota Performance Center in the Page Theatre. Tickets $10 Adults, $5 Students and Seniors. To reserve your tickets today visit pagetheatre.org.
