Recipe Sign-up (emailed on 10/11)

Hello Nutcracker Cast!

As we are celebrating MCA’s 10th Anniversary of the Nutcracker, we would like for this Tea to be the best ever! Therefore, we have made some minor changes for what we are requesting to be prepared and donated this year. Please follow the recipe cards closely so all prepared food items will be standardized for presentation purposes.Thank you so much for sharing your culinary and baking expertise and/or your donations to this years Nutcracker Tea fundraiser.

http://mca.smumn.edu/wp-admin/post.php?post=10085&action=edit#***If you opt to not make one of the food items/recipes listed we would ask that you choose from the following non-food items to donate for the tea, each recipe/food item ends up being $20 to $25 or more per recipe therefore your donation of non-food items would match this amount.

Recipe cards for food items can be picked up in the office.

Please click on the below link to use the Sign-Up Genius to enter yourself for the food donation or food item. Let us know if you have any questions!

Any questions about this can be directed to the Artistic Director, Tammy Schmidt or the Production Coordinator, Jessica Dienger. Thank you for your understanding.

2. Costume/Boutique Info:

  • ALL Angels are called from 4:15-5:15pm this Sunday, Nov. 4th for another costume fitting.
  • Orders for items from the Performance Prep Packet are due Sunday Nov. 4th (shipping is covered by MCA). If you have to order something after 11/4/18, you are able to do so, however, you will have to pay for the shipping charges as well. I have included links below again, should anyone need the link to their order form.
  • Please make sure that if you need more than 1 type or color of shoe, tights or leotard, you put both or all items on the order.

  • As was stated on the Sign Up Genius, Nutcracker volunteer page, all parent volunteers that volunteer for ANY shifts at the Page Theatre are required to attend one informative volunteer meeting to ensure that everyone gets all the needed information, knows how everything operates, where things are, etc. There are 4 time slot options to try to accommodate everyone. Please note that you only  need to attend one of them. Please click on the following link to sign up: https://doodle.com/poll/cahthyser6avn86g. You can then email tickets@smumn.edu to sign up or you can let us know in the office at MCA.

11/16/18- Friday Fill-in

Hello Nutcracker Cast,

1. Rehearsal Schedule Changes:

  • Please observe call times listed on the calendars for your roles going forward. If you are running late, please contact Jess at 608-397-7225.
  • All Cast is required to be at the Page Theatre tomorrow at 11:15-11:45am for the Set Bows.
  • For rehearsal tomorrow, Sat. Nov. 17th, 10:30am- Mother Ginger cast is dropped off and stays in the main theatre for the duration of their time (they will be released at 11:45 after bows are set- parents should pick up in the main theatre). All other cast should be at the Page in the main theatre at 11:15am for Set Bows. Mice & Party Children will be able to be in the Black Box once our volunteers are there.
  • Don’t forget to pack a lunch and/or snacks for rehearsal tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17th as it will be a long day!

2. Costume/Boutique Info:

  • We have most of the dance wear items in that you ordered and Jamie will have them at the Page to hand out to everyone on Monday, Nov. 19. There are a few items that we have yet to get and we will hand those out at the Page once we get those in. We ask that you pay via cash or check when you pick your items up. We will have a spreadsheet with the amount that each person/family owes. If you have more than one pair of shoes to try out to find the best fit, please give the ones that do not fit to Jamie.
  • Due to needing to do a little more digging/looking around, correcting the make up selections for the Performance Prep packet is not yet complete. This will be sent out in the next couple of days. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

3. Performance Communication:

  • Dancers are not allowed to be in the black box at the Page Theatre unattended. If a dancer is early, they must be accompanied by their adult until volunteers arrive (which is 15-30 min. before call time).
  • Parents MUST drop off & pick up their dancers at the Black Box, unless instructed otherwise by Jess, Catie or the MCA office. Dancers need to be checked in and out daily. We will not release dancers to parents waiting downstairs or outside.
  • Please make sure to send pants with your dancer. The Black Box is used throughout the day by the university and there is a potential to get your dancer’s tights dirty.
  • Dancers may bring snacks/meals to rehearsals. There is table space in the Black Box for them to eat.

4. Volunteer Info:

  • REMINDER: this Sunday is our Sugar Plum Tea Party!!! I have again attached the documents with the characters and server assignments. Please make sure you are here at least 5 minutes prior to your start time for the tea party.
  • If you are bringing food for the Tea Party, please bring it to MCA Sunday by or before 11:00am. We do have coolers for items that need to be kept cold. If you still need a tray for a cheese tray, please stop by the admin office at MCA to pick up a clear tray.
  • We are in need of extension cords if you have extras for the Tea Party. Please bring any you have by either today or tomorrow morning by noon.
  • The Tea Party food committee is looking for extra hands around 11am this Sunday to help assemble sandwiches and cheese plates (ingredients/tools supplied). Please come to MCA at 11am in the Monet (art) room if you are able to help with this.
  • We need volunteers for tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17th in the Black Box during rehearsal. We have shortened this shift to a more manageable time frame. If you are available, we would love the extra help!
  • Sunday, Nov. 25th Black Box shift for volunteers has been split into 2 separate times to respect the time of our wonderful volunteers. If you are able to help either shift, please sign up via the Signup Genius.

5. Misc. Information:

  • Please make sure to send a water bottle with your dancer as we have a cooler that we will have in the black box at the Page Theatre.

6. Nutcracker Webpage Portal: Don’t forget about our webpage that has all of the communication from our Friday Fill-In emails, rehearsal calendar, mandatory dates are now out there and other important communication. Click here to get to the webpage portal.
