Our most popular camp, the Winona Arts Camp is back for the 4th year, Aug. 6-10, 9am-3:30pm. However, for the first time ever campers get to have input into the classes they want to take the most. Each camper will be placed in 4 classes that they will take daily for the week of camp. Back by popular demand, there will be an all camp talent show on Friday morning and families are invited to attend a lively showcase at 3 pm on Friday afternoon. Registered campers have already been sent the surveys, but any camper who registers and fill out the class choice ranking survey by June, 12th 2018 will be given priority.

So what can campers explore?

From Concept to Curtain (Learn how to craft a story for the stage in this introduction to playwriting class)

Exploring the Masters (Get inspired by master artists to create your own masterpieces and also take a trip to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum to see work of the masters up close (transportation included).

Stand up Commedia (a mix of improvisational theatre and Commedia Dell’arte, get ready to laugh and think quick on your feet)

Ready, Set, DRAW (From sketching to Zentagle, you will be amazed with what you can create with pen and ink)

Dance Around the World (From Africa to Ireland, explore a new culture and style of dance each day)

Tappin’ Time (we provide the tap shoes for the week and you get to learn how to shuffle, flap and more)

Hip Hop Dance (learn hip hop tricks, moves, and jumps you can show off to your friends and family)

Stain Glass Techniques (when you live in the stain glass studio capital it makes you want to create your very own, so this is your chance to play with visual art and light to create)

Sing Out (Give your vocal cords a workout while you play musical games, learn new songs and vocal techniques.)

Recorder Karate (Master a skill or song and earn a belt (ribbon) for your Recorder)

Songwriting 101 (Work with your classmates to create a song and leave with the skills to create your own album)

Guitar Star (Give guitar a try, play musical games, learn chords and more)

Please note that depending on interest, there is a chance that not every class will be offered or that two classes a camper is interested in may be offered at the same time, but we will try to make sure that your student(s) are registered in areas that they are excited about. If you have more than one child attending, please fill out the form for each child. No experience is necessary for any of these classes and all supplies will be provided unless you have something from home already that you can bring along. If you have questions please let us know. A week or two prior to the camp we will send out a schedule and informational email. For more info about MCA’s Summer Camps Click Here.
