Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts is excited that Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s (PFCT) will be back in Winona to present their original version of the classic tale, “Alladin and his Magic Lamp”. “Alladin”, with script and music by Daniel Nordquist and costume and set design by Deborah Nelson-Pick is an exotic journey full of fun and surprises. Local students aged 7-18 are invited to participate in the week long theatre experience in the original musical production of “Alladin and his Magic Lamp”. Any student registered will be cast. All cast members are required to participate in the audition process on April 23rd to determine their role. Cast members MUST be available for rehearsals Monday- Friday, 4pm-8:15pm and performances on Friday April 27th at 7pm and Saturday, April 28th at 2pm. Performances are in MCA’s Academy Theatre at the Valencia Arts Center.
This is a great experience for young actors with experience and those who have never had the opportunity to hone their theatrical side. Local young people are needed to play the roles of: Alladin, His Mother Harmonia, the Vagabonds, the Merchants, the Slaves of the Genie, the Giant Gemstones, the Sultan, the Princess Serena, Zanda the Tiger, the Maidens, the Vizier & the Genie of the Ring. Students can register now to participate for only $65 (need-based scholarships available).
Tickets to the performance will be on-sale during MCA business hours April 23-28 and 1 hour prior to the performance for $5 per person. Cash or check only.
