On behalf of the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts, I would like to thank everyone who made the ninth biennial Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party possible this year. We hope that all who attended enjoyed an elegant afternoon filled with beautiful music, dancing, and memory making moments.

The Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party is a fundraiser to help support MCA’s Dance Repertory Company’s production of The Nutcracker, with any remaining funds going to our scholarship fund which makes it possible for students of all ages to participate in the arts at MCA. Behind all of the twinkling lights and delectable treats was the hard work of the Nutcracker cast members and their families, members of Friends of MCA, Faculty, Staff and Alumni of MCA and Saint Mary’s University and many community businesses and organizations.

I want to thank the cast of over 90 dancers and families who baked treats, donated beautifully handcrafted and unique items to be sold in the boutique, decorated and cleaned up. The following Committee Chairs, Friends of MCA Volunteers and MCA staff took the lead: Tressie Amann, Denise Albrect, Robyn Hinz, Toni Meinke, Jamie Sanders, Kate Errhum, Linda Bowey, Vivien Skranka, Dianne Amann, Dave Amann, Megan Bagniewski, Michael Charron, Heather Casper, Nicole Civettini, Jessica Dienger, Samantha Heaver, Tonia Kriesel, Rachael Nehring, Christine Martin, Michelle Meyer, Hannah Nagel, Kris Schleich, Tammy Schmidt, Dee Strom, and Shelley Stewart.

Many thanks to the following businesses, organizations, and community members donated or lent items or made fiscal donations that made this beautiful event possible: Hiawatha Education Foundation, Minnesota State Arts Board, Bartz Family Fund of the Winona Community Foundation, Bluff Country Co-op, Chartwells of Saint Mary’s & Winona State University, Cotter Schools, Eide Photography, Aleah Harvey, Vickie Abrew of Bunnies Made of BreadLorraine Dunnington of Chez Lorrraine’s, HyVee, Excel Images, Event Services at SMU, Preston Lawing, Jacquelyn Schnabl, Dave and Shelley Stewart, Matt & Lori Feuerhelm, Stephanie Krueger, Jason Underferth,The Page Theatre, Supreme Graphics and Saint Mary’s University.
