A variety of dance forms will be presented including: classical and contemporary ballet, jazz, musical theatre dance, and modern dance. The works are choreographed by MCA instructors and visiting guest artists, Jessica Dienger, Dustyn Martincich, Jae Hoon Lim, Jen TeBeest, and Tammy Schmidt.

In addition to learning showcase pieces, students participate in comprehensive dance training including technique and theory classes. Class studies have included ballet, pointe, variations, pas de deux, repertory, jazz, hip hop, rhythm tap, Irish dance, modern, musical theatre dance, piyo, choreography, and improvisation.

The 26 dancers are from Minnesota, Montana, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Yukon, Canada. and range in age from 11 to 22, and were selected for the program by audition that were held throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin Feb- April.

The public is also invited to attend a short showcase celebration of the completion of MCA’s first ever Mini-Dance Intensive for younger dancers from the Winona area on Friday, July 22 at 7pm at the Valéncia Arts Center Academy Theatre, 1164 West 10th St.
