Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts will be inviting local students ages 7-18 to participate in a week-long theatre production experience. The show will be Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s original musical production of “Pinocchio”.

Up to 75 local young people are needed to play the roles of Pinocchio, the Blue Fairy, Cricket, Cat, the Spirits of the Forest, the Townsfolk, the Verman, the Holligans, and the Puppets. Two professional actor/directors from Praire Fire will direct the production and play the roles of Geppetto/Tempesto, the Puppet Master, and the Fox.

Any student age 7 -18 may register to participate. The fee to register will be $65 per child. Everyone who registers will be cast, but will be required participate in the audition process on April 18th starting at 4pm and could take up to two hours so they can be cast in the appropriate role. No preparation is necessary. Students who want to gain a little more experience or who are nervous about the audition can check out MCA’s other theatre classes and workshops. A portion of the cast will be required to stay following the auditions for a rehearsal session. Rehearsals will be held throughout the remainder of the week between the hours of 4pm-8:15pm, with performances scheduled for Friday, April 22nd  at 7pm & Saturday, April 23rd  at 2pm, at the Valencia Arts Center (home of MCA).

Tickets to the performance will be $5 per person and will be available at the door, 1 hour prior to the performance.
