Over the course of many years, Mexican movement and visual artist Galia Eibenschutz has developed experimental research regarding the possibilities of interaction between drawing and body movement.  From this research she has developed a series of exercises that create links between the act of drawing and moving our bodies.

During the workshop the body functions as a drawing tool and the drawing as movement notation. The workshop develops visual memory, body awareness and the notion of space-time relationships.

This is a creative workshop for Winona professional dance and visual artists, and college level dance/visual arts students interested in exploring the links and bridges between drawing and movement.  All levels of movers are welcome.

Comfortable clothes that allow movement and can get dirty are required.

Immediately following the workshop will be an informal reception in the MCA lobby with the artist.
