With busy work and school schedules we know it can be hard to find time to do things as a family so in addition to producing a variety of music, theatre and dance performances for you and your family to enjoy we have multi-age classes that will help families make memories, get creative and learn together. My Grown up & Me
Does your child love to move? Children ages 18 months – 3 years old are invited to explore a new environment and connect with a special grown-up in their life. This class will stimulate coordination, balance and listening skills and will be filled with smiles to last a lifetime! Grown-ups attending will be asked to participate along with their child.
Day/Dates: Fridays, May 11-June 15
Time: 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Age: 18 months -3 years by 05/01/18
Fee: $42 (6 classes)

In this intergenerational workshop older adults and youth ages 7-12 will be invited to explore a variety of collage techniques through group and individual instruction. Within the eight sessions, will experience artistic decision-making first hand and gain understanding of the creative process. Instruction will include terminology and techniques that will be used to create final pieces out of cut paper and found objects. A culminating exhibit will take place to showcase final projects.

Ages: Adults 55+ years, this workshop also welcomes kids ages 7-12 to register for an opportunity to hone their arts kills and interact with a different generation.

Family Arts Academy
Family Arts Academy workshops are FREE monthly themed multi-arts experiences that invite the whole family to learn new skills, meet local artists and have fun creating together. Come to one or all, pre-registration recommended. Geared towards kids ages 4-12 and their families, but all ages are welcome.

Parents! Come learn how to teach your little one the guitar and have fun doing it. Geared for parents with children ages 4-6 years old, The Suzuki Guitar Method is based on the way a child acquires language. Besides instilling the gift of music, it is also an opportunity to bond with your child while teaching socialization skills, patience, persistence, community, respect, problem solving, and joyful participation. Our instructor, Kerry Klungtvedt, is a nationally registered Suzuki Teacher with many years of experience. This program is comprised of a mix of parent only, parent & child, group and private lessons. For this exciting pilot program participation is very limited but guitars will be issued to both parents and children to use throughout the program.

Minnesota Conservatory for the arts (MCA) is preparing to begin the second in a series of three unique 8-week workshops for older adults ages 55+ in collaboration with the Winona Friendship Center. Wednesdays, June 6-August 1, 12:00-1:30pm community members who are 55+ and 7-12 years old are invited to explore a variety of collage techniques through group and individual instruction.
The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) is excited to announce that the walls in Galleria Valéncia at MCA are filled with artwork created by students of art educator, Brianna Haupt who are in grades Kindergarten- 12th grade from Riverway Learning Community. The variety of mediums used, subject matter and artistic techniques including experimentation with textiles, selfies, and still life drawing make this exhibit unique and fun for all ages to view. The community is invited to view the The Riverway Learning Community exhibit at no cost through the end of May during regular business hours.
Each year tap celebrations are held throughout the nation in honor of Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s birthday. Starting the week of April 30th Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) will begin rehearsals to prepare for the 2018 National Tap Dance Day Celebration Showcase in the Twin Cities on Sunday, May 27th.
