Community members ages 7-12 and 55+ begun working side by side on June in a unique collage workshop that is a collaboration between the Winona Friendship Center and Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA). Thanks to a generous grant from Aroha Philanthropies participants have been invited to explore a variety of collage techniques through group and individual instruction under the direction of local teaching artist, Brianna Haupt.
On Wednesday, August 8, 5:30-6:30pm the community is invited to an open house, where they can meet and greet the artists and walk though Galleria Valencia inside Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts’ home, the Valencia Arts Center (1164 W. 10th Street, Winona) to view completed projects created during the Multi-generational Collage class. Visitors will love the variety of techniques represented from monochromatic (1 color) to torn paper. Community members unable to attend the open house can view the exhibit throughout the month of August during business hours and when ever programming is happening.
