As an affiliate program of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, MCA is able to offer new opportunities for area youth and university students to interact and learn together.  Area 3rd-6th graders are invited to join Senior Saint Mary’s University Theatre Education students, lead by Celeste Nygren (guided by MCA) staff during a 3-day weekend theatre experience called the “Once Upon a Theatre”. In addition to being a Theatre student at Saint Mary’s University of MN, Celeste is also a Speech Coach at Cotter Schools and was a Teaching Intern with Taproot Theatre Company in Seattle, WA. During this unique workshop the young actors will work together to bring a unique rendition of a classic fairy tale to life. Students will have the chance to stretch their creative muscles, learn new theatre vocabulary and stage skills as they prepare for the showcase on the final day of camp for friends and families.  To learn more about growing theatre opportunities at MCA visit our Theatre webpage or learn about the life skills gleamed from participation in theatre.
